Anil Vij said on the protest of farmers: India is a democracy, everyone has the right to raise their voice

Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said that India is a democratic country and everyone has the right to protest and raise voice.

“You can’t stop anyone for this. Whatever their (farmers’) demands are, our officers are talking to them. speaking terms. Any conclusion drawn from the talks will be communicated,” Vij said on the ongoing farmers’ agitation.

Vij was addressing the media after chairing a meeting with senior police officials in Gurgaon, where he reviewed the law and order situation in the district.

On the dispute between the Mayor and a Superintending Engineer (SE) in the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), Vij said that the Mayor of the MCG has told him that he has some questions for the concerned Superintending Engineer, but instead of answering the questions . Ramesh Sharma left the meeting.

“This is a very serious matter and in a way it is contempt of the House. I have issued instructions to suspend the Superintending Engineer with immediate effect.

Vij took stock of the law and order situation in Gurgaon and reviewed the pending cases, heinous crimes and the traffic situation. “I have directed the DCPs to form a committee of eminent citizens and meet in their respective areas once a month to understand their issues better. All DCPs should visit at least one police station of their area every week and hold Janta Darbar daily between 11 am to 12 noon for public grievances and keep a record of all complaints.

The Home Minister said that there should be a cyber police station in every district of the state. “The traffic police should identify the areas where there is frequent traffic congestion and plan accordingly and issue challans for wrong lane driving,” he said.
