After a dispute with daughter-in-law in Shyamnagar, Kanpur, the angry father-in-law created a ruckus for 3 hours. In a dispute over 300 rupees, the elderly locked the wife, son and daughter-in-law in the room. Threatened to set them on fire. The terrified daughter-in-law immediately informed the Chakeri police. Considering a domestic dispute, a constable and some soldiers reached the old man’s house in a jeep.
Seeing the police, the elderly were shocked. He climbed onto the roof and started firing at the police with his licensed double barrel gun. The constable and two soldiers were injured due to shrapnel. After 3 hours, DCP East Pramod Kumar, ACP Cantt Mrigank Shekhar Pathak, ADCP Rahul Mithai and the force of six police stations reached the spot and handled the situation.
After about 3 hours of nuisance, the police could hardly nab the elderly RK Dubey. After that she has been taken to the police station.
Trouble started after dispute with daughter-in-law
RK Dubey (60), a resident of C-Block, works in the stock market. He lives in the house with his wife Kiran Dubey, elder son Siddharth, daughter-in-law Bhavna and Divyang daughter Chandni. His younger son Rahul and daughter-in-law Jayshree live separately. On Sunday afternoon at 12 noon of RK Dubey, there was a dispute with daughter-in-law.
After this the elders sat down on their own. He locked the wife, daughter-in-law and son in a room, who had come to intervene. Shouting said that I will burn the whole house by setting fire.
For a while the situation had become so uncontrollable that the senior police officers had just taken out their pistols.
The daughter-in-law called the police, said – save
The daughter-in-law Bhavna, who was locked in the room, immediately called the police. Said- Save it, otherwise you will kill the mother-in-law. When Chakeri police reached the house of the elderly, their anger increased further. He shouted, “I myself am harassed and you guys have come to my house to catch me.” After this the elders went inside and brought their double barrel gun. They opened fire on the policemen standing at the gate. Inspector Vineet Tyagi and two constables were injured due to bullet shrapnel. After this the policemen ran away from there.
A force of 3 IPS officers and 6-8 police stations reached the spot. The road was blocked from all sides.
Information given to senior officers
Chakeri police immediately informed the senior officers about the firing on the police. DCP East Pramod Kumar, ACP Mrigank Shekhar Pathak and ADCP Rahul reached the spot along with the force. Even after this, the elderly RK Dubey did not stop and fired directly at the policeman who appeared in front.
After the arrest of the elder, the people of the locality came out. For about 3 hours the people around have been lurking in their homes.

Firing 40 to 45 rounds on the police in about 3 hours. DCP East tried to convince the elderly by talking with the help of loudspeaker. The old man told the DCP, “How did the policeman come to my house. Firing will continue until it is suspended.” After this, the DCP ordered a typed suspension letter to be shown to the elderly. Sent on WhatsApp to the elderly’s number. Then the old man stopped firing. After this the police team caught him.
The street where the old man’s house was, was closed by the police from all sides.
Double barrel gun, 45 kiosks, 60 live cartridges found
After taking RK Dubey into custody, the police seized his licensed double barrel gun. On investigation, about 45 shells were found on the roof and more than 60 live cartridges were found. Son and daughter-in-law told that RK Dubey also has a revolver. The police searched the entire house but the revolver was not found. Police are now trying to recover the revolver as well. RK Dubey deals in trading of shares.
After the arrest of the elderly, the people around came out of the house. For three hours the police did not let anyone out.
Controversy going on for three months with elder son and daughter-in-law
Accused RK Dubey told the police, “Elder son Siddharth’s daughter-in-law Bhavna harass him. Repeatedly demanding money. The daughter-in-law’s maternal relatives also harass him. Three months ago also she had complained to the police. Sunday was getting into an argument with the daughter-in-law. The son and the wife tried to intervene. After this he angrily locked the wife-son and daughter-in-law in the room and threatened to burn them alive.

Police caught the elderly RK Dubey, who fired with hard work for about three hours. Police is interrogating him.
