Angelina Jolie’s Father Jon Voight proudly identifies as one of Hollywood’s most outspoken Trump supporters, believing that Trump is the solution to America’s problems.
Jon Voight has publicly criticised his daughter, Angelina Jolie, for her stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict, accusing her of being “influenced” by antisemitic individuals. The “Midnight Cowboy” star, who shares Jolie with his late ex-wife Marcheline Bertrand, has had a notoriously turbulent relationship with her.
In November, Angelina Jolie, a renowned actress, humanitarian, and former UN High Commission for Refugees special envoy, posted a statement accusing Israel of “deliberately bombing children, women, families, deprived of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid” in violation of international law. Voight, a staunch supporter of Israel, particularly in light of its response to the October 7th attacks by Hamas, strongly disagrees with her views.
Voight claims that Jolie has been exposed to propaganda and influenced by antisemitic rhetoric. “She has been exposed to propaganda. She’s been influenced by antisemitic people. Angie has a connection to the U.N., and she’s enjoyed speaking out for refugees. But these people are not refugees,” Jon said to Variety.
In addition to his views on the Israel-Palestine conflict, Voight has been vocal about his support for Donald Trump. He proudly identifies as one of Hollywood’s most outspoken Trump supporters, believing that Trump is the solution to America’s problems. Voight hopes that recent events will change how people perceive him and his political stance. “Maybe they will see a supporter like me in a different light,” he remarks.
Voight also criticises President Joe Biden, disparaging his debate performance. He goes further, condemning Biden’s presidency as one that allows corruption and violence to go unpunished. “We’re allowing this sick President Biden to give permission for all to steal, cheat, lie and kill,” Voight asserts, calling for an end to what he sees as a dangerous and unchecked administration.
