Angelina Jolie has requested Brad Pitt to end the legal dispute over their winery, Chateau Miraval, by withdrawing the lawsuit.

Angelina Jolie has called on her ex-husband Brad Pitt to “end the fighting” by dropping the lawsuit concerning their winery, Chateau Miraval. Initially, the estate was co-owned equally by the couple until 2021. Jolie’s lawyer, Paul Murphy, stated that despite Pitt having control over all the properties shared during their marriage, as well as the business, he is still demanding more, suing Jolie for $67 million plus punitive damages. Murphy emphasized that Pitt’s actions are unnecessary and urged for a resolution.

In a statement shared with Page Six, Angelina Jolie’s legal representative claimed that Brad Pitt “tried to punish and control Angelina by demanding a newly expanded NDA to cover his personal misconduct and abuse.” Jolie has consistently urged her ex-husband to “end the fighting and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing..” Her team noted they were not surprised by Pitt’s reluctance to turn over documents that are crucial to the proceedings, suggesting these documents would reveal incriminating facts. “Unless Mr. Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to prove his allegations wrong,” said Jolie’s lawyer, Paul Murphy.

The ex-Hollywood power couple’s legal clash intensified after Jolie sold her shares of their winery, Chateau Miraval, for $67 million in October 2021. Pitt responded by filing a lawsuit, asserting that her sale breached their verbal agreement. Jolie countered in April, claiming that Pitt had renegotiated their terms and refused to buy her shares unless she signed an expansive NDA—an attempt, according to her, to cover up his alleged abuse towards her and their children. Pitt’s representatives have firmly denied these allegations.

In June of last year, Brad Pitt’s legal team filed documents asserting that it was Angelina Jolie who initially sought a broader NDA. According to a source from Pitt’s camp, it is “extremely upsetting” that Jolie has allegedly “used the kids as a weapon against” the ‘Bullet Train’ actor, claiming that she has “separated them from him.”

The former ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ co-stars parted ways in 2016, and the aftermath has been turbulent. This report comes in the wake of allegations from 2016, accusing Pitt of attacking Jolie and their children during a family plane trip. Alongside Jolie’s recent statements, Pitt is also challenging Jolie’s request to access his private messages regarding the plane incident.

According to Pitt’s filing obtained by USA Today, “These private, third-party communications are far removed from the issues and allegations in this case, and in many cases, they have nothing but the most tenuous relationship to ‘what happened on that plane.’” Pitt’s team insists the requested communications are irrelevant to the core issues of the current legal battle.

In an October 2022 filing, Angelina Jolie’s lawyers claimed that Brad Pitt “grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall” during a flight from their French winery to California.

The former couple shares six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. Pitt has also faced accusations of getting violent with some of their children during the incident. In a notable development, several of the adult Jolie-Pitt children have recently chosen to remove Pitt’s name from their surname.

In the latest filing on Thursday, Brad Pitt’s attorney claimed that the actor had “voluntarily offered to produce documents sufficient to show everything that occurred on the flight precipitated the ex-couple’s divorce.” Despite this, Angelina Jolie’s request appears to go beyond merely seeking details of the family trip. The filing suggests that if Jolie’s demands were solely focused on ‘what happened on that plane’ as she maintains, Pitt’s initial offer should have been adequate.
