The state government has tied up with Tamil Newsprint and Papers Limited to buy 15,711 metric tonnes of paper needed to print textbooks for government school students.

Students of all government schools in Andhra Pradesh will get textbooks on time at the beginning of the next academic year 2023-24, a senior official said on Wednesday after a meeting with paper suppliers.

School Education Principal Secretary of the department Praveen Prakash met Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited CMD Sai Kumar to procure the required quantity of paper for printing of books and discussed several other issues.

“The state government has entered into an agreement with Tamil Newsprint and Papers Limited to procure 15,711 metric tonnes of paper required for printing text books for students studying in government schools,” Prakash said.

Already 5,918 MT of newsprint has been supplied, while 4,000 MT will be supplied before April 30, while the remaining requirement will be supplied by May 10, the official said.
