Andhra Pradesh government disburses Rs 589 crore to 3.92 lakh women under ‘EBC Nestham’

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday disbursed Rs 589 crore to the accounts of 3,92,674 economically backward women belonging to upper castes under the EBC Nestam scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the objective of this scheme is to improve the livelihood of economically backward women by providing financial assistance of Rs 15,000 per year to women in the age group of 45-60 years.

He said that EBC Nestam was not mentioned in the election manifesto, yet the government has come up with a scheme to help the poor. He said that he has implemented similar schemes like YSR Cheyutha, Kapu Nestam, which have benefited more than 32 lakh middle aged women.

Other than this, Chief Minister Said that the government is committed to women empowerment and has partnered with top companies like ITC, Amul, Procter & Gamble, Reliance to help women access business opportunities.

He said that such initiatives would increase the confidence of women to run their business smoothly and make them self-reliant.

Chief Minister said that the government is making total efforts Development The state as per the Indian Constitution and paid tribute to the framers of the constitution as the scheme is being launched on the eve of 73rd Republic Day. Recalling the rule of the last two and a half years, he said that Rs 13,025 crore was spent on Amma Vodi scheme, benefiting more than 44 lakh mothers. Similarly, around 61.73 lakh people have received social security pension under YSR Pension Kanuka, and 78.75 lakh women have benefited from YSR Aasara Yojana.

He said Government not implemented yet welfare schemes Due to which women have benefited but have appointed women in key posts like Deputy Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Home Minister, State Election Officer and also brought 50 percent reservation to women in all nominated posts and nominated works.

Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, Cheluboyina Srinivasa Venugopalkrishna, Chairman of Reddy Welfare and Development Corporation; C Satyanarayana Reddy, Chairman of Kamma Welfare and Development Corporation; Tummala Chandrashekhar Rao, Chairman of the Kshatriya Welfare Corporation; Pathpati Sarraju, chairman of the Brahmin Welfare Corporation; Sitamaraju Sudhakar, Chairman, Arya Vaish Welfare and Development Corporation; Kuppam Prasad, EWS Special CS; G Anantharamu, GWS; Principal Secretary Ajay Jain, GWS Director Shan Mohan and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
