The former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh mentioned two incidents where drone were spotted over the Central Prison, and alleged that one drone was flown over the Central Prison by some unidentified miscreants to capture his movements with a sinister design

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is lodged in the central jail in Rajamahendravaram for his alleged involvement in the skill development scam, wrote a letter to Vijayawada ACB Court special judge seeking fool-proof security in and around the prison premises.

In a letter dated October 25, sent to the judge through jail authorities, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief mentioned a few untoward incidents that occurred in and around the central jail in the recent past that endangered his life and limb.

He also sought security arrangements in jail to be at par with the ‘Z+’ security provided to him

“It came to my notice that one anonymous letter was received by the Superintendent of Police (SP), East Godavari and the jail authorities in which it was written that some left-wing extremists are planning to assassinate me and crores of rupees were changed hands to execute that assassination bid. The police authorities till now did not make any attempt to enquire about the veracity of the said letter nor have taken steps to avert any unforeseen incident”, Naidu alleged.

The former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh mentioned two incidents where drone were spotted over the Central Prison, and alleged that one drone was flown over the Central Prison by some unidentified miscreants to capture his movements with a sinister design at the instance of the people in power.

He also alleged that another drone was flown over the main gate of the Central Prison on October 6 to capture the images of his family members when they were on the way to meet him personally.

Naidu claimed that the second-drone-incident posed threat not only himself but also to his family members.

The TDP chief mentioned more instances with place and date where the ruling party cadres tried to attack him physically with the support of the police in the last four-half-years.

He also complained that 750 prisoners in the jail have been posing grave threat to his security.

Naidu requested Judge to order to undertake foolproof security arrangements in and around the Central Prison in Rajamahendravaram and to provide Z+ Category security cover to him in view of the lapses in the security arrangements.

“I have Z-Plus security. When I came to jail, they took pictures and videos of me unofficially. The footage was leaked by the police themselves. This type of video footage was released to damage my reputation. Left wing extremists are conspiring to kill me. A letter regarding this has also been sent to the SP of East Godavari district. The police authorities have not conducted any investigation on that letter till now.” he added.
