Ananya Panday is on a roll, promoting her upcoming Prime Video series Call Me Bae. During a fun rapid-fire round with Pinkvilla, Ananya revealed some interesting tidbits about her life and career. When asked, “If you were to be deserted on an island, which male actor would you want to be with?” Ananya didn’t hesitate to name Ranveer Singh.
She said, “Ranveer, because he’d entertain me with some dance or something. I don’t want to get bored.” Later in the conversation, Ananya was asked to rate herself as an actor. She playfully responded, “I can’t do this… Like a 3… How can I rate myself as an actor?” Her co-stars Niharika Dutt and Muskkaan Jaferi encouraged her to give herself a higher score, and Ananya agreed, settling on a 7 out of 10.
While Ananya and Ranveer haven’t yet starred opposite each other, she did appear in Ranveer’s introductory song, Heartthrob, in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. Fans are eagerly hoping to see the two together on screen soon.
As for Call Me Bae, this comedy-drama series is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment and directed by Colin D’Cunha. The eight-episode series is written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair. Alongside Ananya, the show features an ensemble cast, including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur. Call Me Bae will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video from September 6.
In addition to Call Me Bae, Ananya Panday has other projects lined up. She will star in Vikramaditya Motwane’s thriller CTRL, which will be available on Netflix starting October 4, 2024. The film features Vihaan Samat, Devika Vatsa, Kamakshi Bhat, Suchita Trivedi, Samit Gambhir, and Ravish Desai in significant roles. Ananya is also set to appear in a project titled Shankara, although details about this film are still under wraps.
