The wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant has been hailed as the grandest celebration the country has ever witnessed. Wedding photographer Himanshu Patel spoke about his extraordinary experience covering the seven-month-long event. Days after the festivities concluded, Himanshu shared insights into the behind-the-scenes moments of the lavish wedding.
Himanshu, in an interview with indianexpress.com, described the atmosphere as nothing short of a dream. “It was overwhelming to be in a room filled with so many powerful and influential people. The grandeur and glamour were incredible,” he said. His primary concern was ensuring that his team remained focused and not starstruck. “Our fundamental goal was to capture the family and intimate moments during the celebrations. I told my team not to get overwhelmed by the presence of celebrities.”
Recalling a specific moment, Himanshu shared, “When Anant and Mark (Zuckerberg) were talking, I couldn’t believe it. I had to pinch myself. But then, I quickly and politely asked Mark if I could click a photo of him, and he obliged. The celebrities were not just performers; they were friends and family enjoying the celebration.”
One of the highlights of the wedding was the rare moment when the three Khans— Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir – performed together on stage. “Nobody had been able to get them to perform together before. It was overwhelming to see them dance. The atmosphere was electrifying, and everyone was thoroughly enjoying it. The entire celebration felt like a historic moment,” Himanshu recounted. SRK, Salman and Aamir performed at Anant and Radhika’s pre-wedding function which took place in Jamnagar in March.
The event was so spectacular that it felt like a scene straight out of a film. “It was like a movie, one that no one scripted and won’t be screened anywhere. Witnessing it felt exclusive and surreal,” he recalled.
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant tied the knot at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on July 12. The event was a star-studded affair, graced by some of the biggest names from the entertainment industry. Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor and international sensations Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian brought their star power to the occasion.
