Anant Chaturdashi 2021: Ganpati Visarjan Timing, Worship Method, Significance and Other Details

It is said that Lord Ganesha, also known as Vighnaharta Ganesha, removes all troubles from the lives of his devotees and bestows them with happiness, peace and prosperity in life. Lord Ganesha was welcomed on Shukla Paksha Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month and he will be immersed on Anant Chaudas.

Ganpati Visarjan is going to happen tomorrow, but devotees are getting emotional thinking that they have to send off Lord Ganesha soon. Like Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha is also sent off at an auspicious time of the day.

This year Ganesh Visarjan will take place on 19th September. The idol of Lord Ganesha is immersed in any water source, be it a pond or a cistern in the house. According to the Hindu calendar, there are 5 auspicious times for Ganpati Visarjan. This time Ganpati Visarjan is falling on Sunday which also coincides with Dhriti Yoga. Also the west direction will be auspicious.

Auspicious time for Ganesh Visarjan:

According to astrologers, it is advisable to immerse the idol of Lord Ganesha in the auspicious time itself. This year the auspicious time for Ganesh Visarjan is from 09:11 am to 12:21 pm. You can also immerse the idol of Lord Ganesha between 01:56 pm to 03:32 pm.

Also Abhijeet Muhurta is between 11:50 am to 12:39 am. Brahma Muhurta is from 04:35 am to 05:23 am and Amrit Kaal is from 08:14 am to 09:50 am. Keep in mind that the time of Rahukal on this day is from 04:30 pm to 6 pm. Don’t forget to complete the immersion during this time limit.

Ganesh Visarjan Puja Vidhi:

Before immersing the idol of Lord Ganesha, you should keep in mind that the idol of Lord Ganesha should be dressed in new clothes. During the puja you should tie modak, dhan, durva grass and betel nut in a silk cloth and keep that bundle with the idol of Lord Ganesha. After this, you should worship Lord Ganesha, apologizing for any mistake. Then you should immerse the idol with full respect and love.
