Anand Giri will get security in jail as per rules

The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Prayagraj has directed the Superintendent of Naini Central Jail to provide security to Anand Giri, accused in the death of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) President Mahant Narendra, as per the jail manual and other laws. Mountain.

Anand Giri had made an application before the court on Thursday, claiming that there was a threat to his security inside the jail.

CJM Harendra Nath further directed that Anand Giri will now be produced in the court through video conferencing.

According to Gulab Chandra Agrahari, the district government’s counsel (criminal) who represented the state during the court proceedings, the CJM examined the application of Anand Giri and passed an order to provide security keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter. Prison Manual.

Anand Giri is accused of abetting the suicide of Narendra Giri, whose body was found hanging from the ceiling of a room at Baghambari Math in Prayagraj’s Georgetown police circle limits on September 20.

In his suicide note, Mahant had accused Anand Giri and two others of mental torture.

Later, an FIR was registered against Anand Giri and two others at Georgetown police station here under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Thereafter, Anand Giri was arrested by the police and after questioning was produced in the CJM’s court on 22 September. He was remanded to judicial custody and sent to Naini Central Jail. Now the matter has been taken over by the CBI for investigation.
