Most people spend their entire lives looking for that one perfect job opportunity before they decide to settle down. For countless Indian students, becoming an IAS officer or a doctor is a dream come true. However, there are a select few who see these achievements only as pitfalls in their journey rather than the final destination. Roman Saini, a doctor, former IAS officer and a very wealthy entrepreneur, is one such person.

Let’s take a look at the remarkable success story of Roman Saini, from being one of the youngest civil servants in India to founding Unacademy, a center that helps thousands of UPSC aspirants crack the exam. Unacademy is currently valued at over Rs 15,000 crore.

Roman is a resident of Rajasthan. While his father is an engineer by profession, his mother is a homemaker. At the age of 16, the brilliant young man cleared the AIIMS exam, considered one of the toughest exams. After completing his MBBS degree, he started working at the National Drug Dependence Treatment Center (NDDTC) at the age of 18.

But this time too his tenure as an IAS officer did not last long. He soon resigned from the coveted post and partnered with his friend Gaurav Munjal, to become the founder of Unacademy, a service that currently provides thousands of UPSC aspirants aspiring to become IAS officers. Unacademy was created to provide UPSC aspirants access to coaching sessions without paying a hefty sum.

Though Gaurav Munjal started Unacademy as a small YouTube channel in 2010, Munjal, Saini and their third co-founder Hemesh Singh formally launched the business in 2015. In just six years, Unacademy has over 18,000 teachers, becoming one of India’s leading educational platforms. , reports DNA. The turnover is around Rs 15,000 crore.
