Joga Singh, a Khalistani supporter and chief aide of ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh, was arrested by the Punjab Police from Sirhind on Saturday.
Speaking at a press conference, DIG Border Range Narinder Bhargava said, “Punjab Police has arrested Joga Singh, a key aide of ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh, from Sirhind.”
Earlier, Papalpreet Singh, another close aide of Amritpal Singh, was arrested from Amritsar in Punjab. According to sources, Papalpreet Singh was arrested in a joint operation carried out by the Punjab Police and its counter-intelligence unit.
The radical preacher is absconding after the police crackdown on his organization Waris Punjab Day on March 18. However, he has appeared in two purported videos and an audio clip released on social media in the last few days.
