Amrit Mahotsav 2021: All you need to know about Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi

Prime minister Narendra Modi Today, India expressed optimism as it entered the month of August, which marks the beginning of the Amrit Mahotsav. PM Modi shared a series of incidents on Twitter which are “a matter of joy for every Indian.” He pointed out that the country has reported record vaccination against COVID-19, while higher GST numbers indicate strong economic activity.

Talking about the stellar performance of Indian athletes in Tokyo Olympics 2020, he wrote that PV Sindhu has not only won a worthy medal, but the country has also witnessed the historic efforts of the men’s and women’s hockey teams. “I am optimistic that 130 crore Indians will continue to work hard to take India to new heights as it celebrates the Amrit Mahotsav,” he concluded the tweet.

The ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ will be celebrated on August 15, 2021, on the completion of 75 years of India’s independence. A National Implementation Committee headed by Home Minister Amit Shah formulated the policies and programs that need to be organized.

Earlier this year, PM Modi had started the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on March 12 to mark 91 years of Dandi March. He paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the freedom struggle. Curtain lifting activities began on 12 March, which revolved around India’s 75th independence. The activities included websites, movies, songs like ‘Atmanirbhar Incubator’

After the inauguration ceremony, various groups of people took out a padyatra from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi, Navsari. The 241 mile journey was completed in 25 days as the padayatra ended on 5 April. On 27 June, during the 78th episode of his monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister urged citizens to participate extensively in the events of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit’. Mahotsav’ which is being celebrated as ‘Jan Andolan’ by the Government of India.
