Amitabh Bachchan is now seen in KBC 16.

Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog to recount his day off and said that he spent some time with his family.

Amitabh Bachchan has returned for yet another season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. The actor reprised his role as the host for KBC 16 and impressed fans with his dedication and hard work. While Amitabh Bachchan has recently expressed on social media that he has been extremely busy with work, he took a day off on the occasion of Independence Day to spend time with his family.

He wrote in his blog, “A quiet day .. spent at working on the body .. and with family .. that odd off day when there is need to catch up with all pending work… The last few days have been far too busy at the Studio to be able to send a comprehensive Blog .. but the coming days shall hopefully be a little more levelled out for the time to be spent on the connect…”

He added, “The inspiration for us all in the business has ever been the audience and their love and affection, or their remarks that ask for greater attention… Yes, an effort is always made to be an able respondent to them, and that shall continue…You make us .. what we make for you…”

As for KBC 16, the first episode aired on Monday. Before Big B brought the season’s first contestant on the hot seat, he shared a moving message with all those who have watched and supported him through his journey in KBC. The actor’s emotional message left a few audience members tearing up.

“Today marks the start of a new season. But I’m a little short of words today. And that’s because no word has the capacity to convey the gratitude for your love,” he began his message in Hindi. “I can’t come up with the words to thank you for your prayers which gave a new life to Kaun Banega Crorepati, which illuminated this stage again, and which reunited a family and allowed me to be present among you. I salute this country’s people for the resurrection, rebuilding, and rebirth of KBC,” he added before he folded his hands.

“This stage is yours, this game is yours, and this season is only yours. To respect your love, I’ll be present before you with twice the effort. And I believe you’ll keep reassuring me by holding my hand,” Amitabh said as he kicked off the new season.

The new season has brought a couple of changes in the format. Amitabh revealed that contestants on the hot seat can now opt for ‘Dugnaastra’, in which the amount they are playing for can be doubled. They will be presented with a ‘super sawaal’. As interesting as this sounds, there is one catch — the question will not have options. The first contestant of the show, Utkarsh Baxi, opted for this choice in the first episode. He doubled his stakes at the Rs 25,00,000 stage but got the answer wrong and went home with Rs 3,20,000 prize money.
