Amitabh Bachchan praised Hema Malini and said she goes to the Parliament, manages her constituency Mathura, acts, sings and dances.
Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini have been friends for many years and have worked together in many films. Whenever the two come together on a stage, they do not shy away from praising each other. Recently, an old video from an event went viral on social media in which Hema Malini was seen along with Amitabh Bachchan and husband Dharmendra.
Amitabh says, “Just now Jaya ji was saying how much work Hema ji is doing. We are not doing any work at all.”
He further says, “She is into politics, goes to the Parliament, and manages her Lok Sabha constituency Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. She also dances and sings in her free time. But here, we are not doing anything at all.” Then Amitabh Bachchan looks at Hema Malini and says, “I want to assure you that from today onwards we will also try to do something like that.” After hearing this, Hema Malini starts laughing on the stage.
As Amitabh Bachchan’s speech ends, Dharmendra takes the microphone and says, “Just ask your heart how much Amitabh is lying. He has become the engine of the entire film industry. Everyone follows him. I see his discipline and determination in life.”
Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini played parents of four grown-up sons in the 2003 family drama Baghban. As the project recently completed its 20th anniversary in October 2023, Hema Malini spoke about working with Amitabh Bachchan in an interview. The veteran actress revealed that Amitabh Bachchan was much more jovial ten years ago. She recalled that the crew would always get excited when he arrived on the sets of Baghban because they knew Big B would crack a joke or two.
Hema Malini said, “He used to be so jovial and fun-loving. I don’t think he is like that anymore. Pata nahi, thoda serious ho gaye hain aaj kal.”
