Amit Shah Praises Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj: ‘It Shows Indian Culture Of Respecting Women’

Union Home Minister Amit Shah observed on Wednesday Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar-starrer Samrat Prithviraj at a special screening in Delhi two days before the film’s release. He watched the film in a movie hall along with his family members and several union ministers including Piyush Goyal, Anurag Thakur and Ashwini Vaishnav. After the screening, Amit Shah praised the project, which impressed him greatly.

In a clip tweeted by ANI, the Union Home Minister is accompanied by Akshay Kumar and Manushi. Speaking about the film, Amit Shah said, “The film reflects the Indian culture of respecting women and empowering women. The story is about a hero who fights amidst battles Afghanistan For Delhi.” Further, the Union Home Minister said that even though India Became independent in 1947, 2014 marked the beginning of an era of cultural revival. This will once again take the country to new heights where we once were,” Shah said as the BJP completed eight years of the NDA government at the Centre.

Samrat Prithviraj also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in lead roles. The film also marks the screen debut of Manushi, who was a miso World 2017. This film, depicting the valor of 12th century king Prithviraj Chauhan, is going to be released in theaters tomorrow.

Amidst the film promotions, in an interview with ANI, Akshay highlighted how the school curriculum lacks information about Indian kings. The actor said that he is not against teachings about Mughals, but feels that students should strike a balance with teaching them about Indian kings as well.

“I am not saying that we should not read about the Mughals… but to balance it (teaching about Indian kings too). They were also great. I would ask the Education Minister to look into the matter and this I appeal to see if we can change that.”
