Here a man has been sentenced to 205 years in prison for shooting five members of his family and offered no explanation for his actions, saying he must have hated a lot. Stokes, 44, said he could not explain why he killed his family members.

Those killed were 41-year-old Teresa Thomas and their two children, 16-year-old Tierra Edge and 14-year-old Demetrius Thomas. Two other people linked to Stokes were also killed, 19-year-old Marcus Stokes and 17-year-old Lakitha Stokes. Only Stokes’ three-year-old grandson was spared. Prosecutors said the child witnessed the shooting and asked Stokes not to hurt him.

A criminal complaint said Stokes called 911 on April 27 last year and told dispatchers that he had just massacred his family. Milwaukee County Judge Michelle Havas sentenced Stokes to 40 years in prison for each of five counts of first-degree negligent manslaughter. Guilty for illegally possessing a gun as a convicted felon, plus another five years.
