New Delhi: Amazon is offering more flexibility to its teams as the internet behemoth is all set to return to the office. Amazon.com Inc. will let individual teams decide how many days in a week corporate employees will be expected to work from the office, Chief Executive Officer Andy Jesse said in a message to employees on Monday.
“For our corporate roles, instead of specifying that people work a baseline three days a week in the office, we are going to leave this decision up to individual teams. This decision will be made team by team at the director level We expect there will be teams that will continue to work mostly remotely, others that will do some combination work remotely and in the office, and still others that will decide the clients, for the team to work mostly in the office. Best served. We’re not consciously determining how many days or which days—it’s up to directors to determine with their senior leaders and teams. Decisions should be guided by what’s most effective for our clients What will happen; and not surprisingly, we will all continue to be evaluated by how we deliver to customers, regardless of where the work is done,” wrote Jassi.
Amazon’s policy previously required employees to return to the office at least three days a week starting January 3.
