All arrangements have been made by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) to ensure smooth pilgrimage to the naturally formed ice-lingam at the cave temple.

Amarnath Yatra 2022: The 43-day Amarnath Yatra to the holy cave temple located in the South Kashmir Himalayas began today amidst slogans of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ from Baltal and Nunwan base camps in the Kashmir Valley. Officials said that the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has made all arrangements to ensure smooth pilgrimage to the naturally formed snow Shivling at the cave temple.

The Yatra began with religious fervor after a gap of three years. In 2019, the yatra was called off days before the abrogation of Article 370. The pilgrimage did not take place in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
