Young Indian wrestling talent Aman Sehrawat is set to represent the nation in the 57kg men’s freestyle event at the 2024 Olympics. Despite being just 21, Aman has already achieved multiple accolades in his career. He has previously represented India in premier sporting events, including the Commonwealth Games and Asian World Championships. Aman hails from the Indian state of Haryana. To pursue his career, Aman shifted to Chhatrasal Stadium at an early age. From a very young age, Aman had developed unique aggression in his wrestling style. Ignoring the words of his coaches, Aman set a fast pace while powering through his burpees.
Heading into the 2024 Paris Olympics, Aman Sehrawat recently spoke about how he was confident that hard work would favour him at the summer games. Having already squared off against multiple tough opponents this year, Aman will now be eyeing silverware at the Olympics.

Paris Olympics Qualification
Earlier this year in May, Aman Sehrawat became the first Indian male wrestler to secure the 2024 Paris Olympics quota. He earned it at the World Wrestling Olympic Qualifiers held in Istanbul, Turkey. The 21-year-old had defeated Korea’s Chongsong Han 12-2 in the semi-final to claim India’s sixth wrestling quota for Paris. The previous five quotas were obtained by women wrestlers.
Recent Performances
Aman Sehrawat’s most recent performance came at the 2nd Wrestling Ranking Series held in Hungary. He competed in the men’s 57kg freestyle at the event. Aman clinched victories against Roberti Dingashvili 11-1 before beating Aryan Tsiutryn 14-4. Aman lost his third match 11-1 to Rei Higuchi. He bagged silver at the event.
