New DelhiAlumni of various Delhi government schools on Wednesday visited former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence and extended their support to his family. The alumni also brought letters for Sisodia, who also held the education portfolio, citing their personal experiences with him and the way he worked, and appealed to his wife Seema Sisodia to deliver them to him.

Soni, now a first-year college student, said Sisodia’s personal connection with a student studying in Delhi’s government schools gave him the confidence to “rise above his struggles”.

“There can be no substitute for Manish Sisodia. His personal connection with a student from Delhi’s government schools has given us the confidence to rise above our struggles and dream big. We will always stand by him,” he added.

Sanjeeda, another alumnus, said Delhi’s education system “changed her life”. “Delhi’s education system has given us confidence. Manish Sisodia has changed our lives and we cannot believe that he can do anything wrong,” he said.

Yogita, who comes from a poor socio-economic background, said students received “excellent” educational facilities in Delhi government schools.

“My parents could not afford the fees of a private school, but I am proud to be a student of a government school. They gave us the best of facilities,” she said.

Some of the alumni were also young entrepreneurs, who got a boost from the Business Blaster program launched by Sisodia.

Ashish, an alumnus, told PTI, “We got overwhelming support from the Delhi government, especially Manish Sisodia. Many changes were made in the education system of Delhi. We got help in business.
