A Delhi court on Friday granted bail to Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair in a case related to a 2018 tweet against a Hindu deity. However, he will remain in custody till relief is granted in other cases against him.
Mohammad Zubair was arrested by the Delhi Police on June 27 for hurting religious sentiments through one of his tweets and was remanded to one-day police custody by the trial court on the same day.
The court found that the image used in the tweet is from a 1983 film released for unrestricted viewing and till date no complaint has been received from any person regarding the image.
