Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 Postponed? Films Compete For August 15

‘Pushpa: The Rule’ or Pushpa 2 has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced. According to reports, the highly anticipated sequel ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ starring Allu Arjun, which was initially set to release on August 15, has been postponed. It is reported that director Sukumar has not yet completed the film’s shooting and subsequent post-production work. Consequently, new films from the Tamil and Hindi film industries are now considering the August 15 release date. The makers of ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ have not yet made an official statement addressing the latest postponement rumors.

With ‘Pushpa 2’ originally slated for release on August 15, several films across different industries have chosen to schedule their releases for other dates to avoid direct competition with the Allu Arjun-starrer.

On June 12, trade analyst Taran Adarsh, on his social media account X (formerly Twitter), announced that Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’ will now hit theaters on August 15.

Earlier, ‘Khel Khel Mein’ was set for a grand release on September 6. Their decision to advance the release date to August 15 also adds credibility to the rumors about the postponement of ‘Pushpa 2’.

Not only ‘Khel Khel Mein’, but John Abraham’s ‘Vedaa’ will also be releasing on August 15. The makers of ‘Pushpa 2’ have released the film’s teaser and two songs as part of their promotional campaign.

Director Sukumar and Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa: The Rule’ serves as a sequel to ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, which hit theatres in December 2021 and made a significant impact at the box office. The film, which also stars Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna, has been in production for over a year now.
