PRAYAGRAJ: The Allahabad High Court On Thursday, the direction of the lower court of Varanasi was stayed Archaeological Survey of India (About this) to conduct a comprehensive physical survey of Gyanvapi Mosque complex adjacent to Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.
The trial court had on April 8 ordered an ASI survey to probe the mosque complex, ruling on petitions alleging the construction of a mosque by the Mughal emperor after a Hindu temple was partially demolished. It took practice to get through.
The order was on a demand for restoration of the land on which the Gyanvapi Masjid is situated, to the Hindus.
The plaintiff, on behalf of the ancient idol of the self-styled god Vishweshwara, said that the Mughal ruler Aurangzeb had destroyed the temple in 1664 and built a mosque over its remains.
A lawsuit was filed in 1991 seeking restoration of the ancient temple at the site where the Gyanvapi Mosque currently stands.
On 15 March, the Allahabad High Court reserved its verdict on various pleas that had challenged the sustainability of the 1991 trial before the Varanasi trial court, which sought restoration of an ancient temple at the site where it is now. Gyanvapi Mosque is located in Varanasi.
