Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday said that all the demands of farmers, including the original MSP, have not been accepted.
Satya Pal Malik congratulated the Prime Minister for moving forward towards finding a solution and showing a big heart by repealing agricultural laws, but said, “All the demands of the farmers have not been accepted. MSP is their basic demand. Government should accept this demand and form a committee. If they do so, the farmers will withdraw their protest.”
“I would urge farmers to get assurance on committees formed to solve other issues and go home. I would advise them not to increase it (protest) unnecessarily. MSP is their basic demand and I am on this issue.” I’m with them.” Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik said.
He further said, “I will step down (from the post of governor) as soon as there is any indication to this effect from the people who have appointed me.”
