Alia Bhatt provides an important update on Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
In a recent interview, Alia Bhatt shared a key update on the highly anticipated film Jee Le Zaraa, which also stars Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
In 2021, Farhan Akhtar made waves with the announcement of his much-anticipated film Jee Le Zaraa, which was set to star Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif. Originally planned to go into production last year, the film’s schedule was delayed as Akhtar shifted his attention to other projects, including Don 3. However, recent reports suggest that Akhtar and his production company, Excel Entertainment, are now exploring the possibility of reviving the project. Amidst these developments, Alia Bhatt, who is currently promoting her film Jigra with Vasan Bala, provided a crucial update on Jee Le Zaraa.
During a promotional interview with The Lallantop alongside filmmaker Vasan Bala and actor Vedang Raina, Alia Bhatt was asked about her upcoming films, including Jee Le Zaraa. Addressing the film’s status, she shared, “There is no schedule right now, no shoot day. Definitely hogi (surely it will be made). It’s a film that everybody, jo bhi key players hai uss film mein (whoever are the key players in the film)—actors, producers, directors—everybody wants the film to happen.”
Alia explained that the delay in production is primarily due to scheduling conflicts among the cast and crew. Despite these challenges, she confirmed that the team is committed to making the film, stating, “But, I think sab ke aagar zehan mein hai, intent mein hai toh woh film ban jayegi. (But I think when everyone wants and intends to make the film, it will be made).”
Earlier this year, Pinkvilla reported that while Jee Le Zaraa had been put on hold before reaching the pre-production stage, the script continued to receive finishing touches. According to a source close to the production, the delay was due to scheduling issues, not because the project had been shelved. “The film was put on the back burner due to date issues and not completely called off, as it’s a pet project for all the stakeholders—from the producers to writers and director. The script is completely in place and the team is now looking to revive the project,” the source shared.
Jee Le Zaraa is a significant project for Excel Entertainment, as it aims to complete a trilogy of friendship-centered films, following the successes of Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. There were also reports that during a recent visit to India, Farhan Akhtar met with Priyanka Chopra to revive talks about the film. He has remained in touch with both Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt, working to align their schedules to get the project back on track.
While there have been rumors that Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif may no longer be involved, Alia Bhatt’s recent comments suggest that all parties are still very much invested in bringing Jee Le Zaraa to life.
