Alia Bhatt condoles Pandit Birju Maharaj’s demise, writes emotional note

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt is shocked to hear about the demise of legendary Kathak dancer and choreographer Pandit Birju Maharaj.

On Monday, on his Instagram handle, the actor shared a picture of the late icon and wrote a note, remembering the time he taught him during the preparations for ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’.

She wrote, “Had the honor and privilege of spending three whole days with Pandit Birju Maharaj in 2018 while I was preparing for ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’. I will never forget all that he has taught me. This is probably the most creative was one of the. and one who completes my experience. A legend who has inspired many people and will always continue to do so through his art. Really broke my heart to write this post today. God his soul give peace to him.”

The beautiful track featuring Alia along with Bollywood dance icon Madhuri Dixit is from the film ‘Kalank’ and is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Mhade.

Earlier today, Madhuri Dixit also paid a heartfelt tribute to her late guru on social media.

Biru Maharaj passed away on Monday following difficulty in breathing. He was 83 when he breathed his last at his Delhi residence surrounded by his family.
