Akshay Kumar’s Selfie is about to release in theaters tomorrow.

CBFC’s screening committee has passed Akshay Kumar’s selfie with U/A certificate. The length of the film, as mentioned in the censor certificate, is 143 minutes.

Prior to its release, Selfie has created a huge buzz among the public. Not just because it is Akshay Kumar’s first release of the year, but also because it has forced him to share screen space with Emraan Hashmi for the first time. Now, just days before the film’s release, it has emerged that the screening committee of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reportedly passed SELFIE with a U/A certificate. Not only that but, according to a Bollywood Hungama reports, not a single audio, or visual cut was imposed by the censor board, making it Akshay’s fourth film to be cleared post-COVID with zero cuts.

Reports revealed that the CBFC had cleared the Raj Mehta directorial film around 2 weeks ago. And the makers got the U/A certificate on 8 February. Citing the censor certificate, the report claimed that the length of the film is 143 minutes, which makes Selfie’s runtime 2 hours 23 minutes. The CBFC has cleared Selfie with zero cuts making it Akshay’s seventh film and his fourth film after Covid to pass without any deletions and modifications. Well, it is definitely an achievement, as the movies are currently seeing the strictest version of CBFC ever.

In case you are wondering, Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom was the first film to be cleared with zero cuts and U/A certification in the post-pandemic era. Akshay and Rohit Shetty’s Suryavanshi also got to see something similar. In 2022, while Raksha Bandhan was awarded a U certificate, the CBFC did not request any cuts. However, in the same year, the CBFC censored Bachchan Pandey for its action sequences and double meaning dialogues. While Emperor Prithviraj was asked to change the dialogues at four places, Ram Setu also faced censorship and altering of dialogues.

Coming back to Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release, Selfie also stars Nushrat Bharucha and Diana Penty. The comedy film is helmed by Jugjag Jio fame director Raj Mehta and is all set to hit the theaters on 24th February. Selfie is the Hindi remake of the 2019 Malayalam film Driving License, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu.
