first poster for Akshay KumarThe Hindi remake of Tamil film Soorarai Pottru starring Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal has been unveiled. The production of the film was to begin in April 2022. Akshay broke the news by sharing a video, in which Radhika was seen performing the lucky ritual of ‘breaking coconut’ before the first shot. The release date of the film has been revealed along with the poster, although the title has not been made public yet. The film starring Akshay Kumar is all set to release on September 1, 2023.
On Tuesday, the player shared the first poster of the film on his Instagram account. His caption read, “We are ready to take off! Production No. 27 (Untitled) will be releasing in cinemas worldwide on September 1, 2023.”
In April last year, Akshay Kumar released a video from the sets as soon as the filming began. His caption read, “With auspicious coconut bursting and a little prayer in heart, we start filming our as yet untitled film which is all about dreams and their power. If you have any title suggestions, Share.” And of course best wishes to you.”
For the unversed, the film also has a special cameo by actor Suriya. Earlier, she had confirmed her cameo by sharing a picture with Akshay Kumar. His tweet read, “@AkshayKumar Sir was nostalgic to see you as #VIR! @Sudha_Kongara can see our story coming alive beautifully again #Maara! The film is helmed by Sudha Kongara, who also directed the original Tamil version, starring Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and Mohan Babu. The Tamil version was released in November 2020. Actor Suriya has also co-produced the Hindi remake.
