Lucknow: Demand for resignation of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni Lakhimpur Kheri Event, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav He said on Monday that the way the BJP-led government is committing atrocities on the farmers, in the same way the British would not have oppressed the people.

Speaking to the media while protesting outside his residence in Lucknow, Yadav said, “Even the British would not have committed such atrocities against farmers. Resignation to Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra and Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya needed.”
“Rs two crore and government jobs should be given to the families of the farmers who lost their lives in this incident,” he said.
The Samajwadi Party president staged a dharna outside his residence after police stopped him from going to Lakhimpur Kheri, where eight people, including four farmers, died on Sunday.
“The government doesn’t want any political leaders to go there. What are they hiding?” He asked.
Samajwadi Party workers gathered here after security forces deployed by the police put up barricades at his residence on Vikramaditya Marg in Lucknow.
Earlier, Yadav demanded resignation of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the incident.
Several opposition leaders from various parties including Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa are also scheduled to visit Lakhimpur Kheri on Monday.
The United Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of several farmers’ unions, alleged that Ashish Mishra Teni, son of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, had come with three vehicles when the farmers were dispersed by their protest at the helipad and crushed the farmers.
