Bundelkhand Expressway will boost local economy, connectivity: PM

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that the Bundelkhand Expressway project will boost the local economy and connectivity of Uttar Pradesh. The Bundelkhand Expressway is being inaugurated on Saturday in Katheri village of Orai tehsil of Jalaun district.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the government is committed to increasing connectivity across the country, a key feature of which is to work towards improving road infrastructure.

“A significant effort in this direction was the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of Bundelkhand Expressway by the Prime Minister on February 29, 2020. The work on the expressway has been completed within 28 months and will now be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. The PMO statement said.

The 296 km four-lane expressway has been constructed under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) at a cost of about Rs 14,850 crore, and may later be expanded to six lanes as well.
