Amala Akkineni penned a note on the poor box office opening of her son’s film Agent.
Akhil Akkineni’s spy action thriller Agent released earlier this week but is yet to receive a great response from critics and audiences alike. The Surender Reddy directorial trolled the filmmaker as well as Akhil Akkineni himself, who spent two years on the film. Due to that, Amala Akkineni has come forward to show her support by addressing the trolls on her social media timeline.
On Saturday, Amala shared a quote on her Instagram handle which read, “Creativity is specifically expressed in the ability to make connections, make connections, change things and express them in new ways.” Along with the picture quote, she also wrote a caption which read, “I understand trolling comes from inner insecurities and need for achievement. I saw Agent yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed the film. However, it had its flaws, if If you look with an open mind, you will be amazed.” I saw it in a stuffy theatre, while 50% of the audience in the audience are women, mothers and grandmothers with their husbands and sons. In an interview with anchor Suma, Akhil revealed that he had put on 16 kgs to look perfect for the role. Akhil also revealed that he had suffered several injuries during the intense workouts for his transformation. He had injured his ankle and also had a ligament problem. Despite these difficulties, Akhil said that he continued to finish the work of the agent.
Agent is directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Anil Sunkara. Surendra’s last directorial venture was the 2019 film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. The film was successful at the box office and collected over Rs 240 crore which helped the director make a good mark in the industry.
