Akasa Air, the ultra low cost airline of stock market big bull Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, has placed an order for 72 Boeing 737 MAX jets. This order was given at the air show being held in Dubai. The total cost of these planes is $ 9 billion. The deliveries of the aircraft will start from next year.

Akasa expected to start next year
Akasa has received No Objection Certificate from India. Now the airline company will apply for the Air Operator Permit with the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The airline is expected to launch next summer.

737 Max in question
The 737 MAX jet has been in the news for a long time. The 737 MAX was discontinued worldwide in March 2019 after two accidents within 5 months. 346 people died in these accidents.

Boeing’s financial condition worsens
Boeing’s financial situation worsened due to the closure of the 737 MAX. The Kovid-19 pandemic exacerbated this crisis even more. However, earlier this year the DGCA approved Max to fly in and out of India.

Only Spijet has B737 MAX aircraft
SpiceJet is currently the only Indian carrier in India to have a B737 MAX aircraft. None of those planes are taking off. After the delivery of 72 aircraft, Akasa airline will also join this list.

Aviation sector facing financial crisis
The aviation sector is already going through an economic crisis before the pandemic. For example, Kingfisher once became the second largest airline in the country, but in 2012 the company had to shut down its business.

Similarly, Jet Airways is also grounded since 2019, which is now preparing to take off again. Vistara and Indigo, a joint venture company of Tata Group and Singapore Airline Limited, are also in financial crisis due to the Corona epidemic.
