Ajith’s Valimai likely to hit theaters on March 4

According to some reports, the film will hit the theaters on March 4.

Earlier, the makers of Valimai refused to release the film online even though they were offered Rs 300 crore by an OTT platform.

Actor Ajith Kumar-starrer Valimai is one of the most awaited films of 2022. The action-thriller was initially scheduled to release in theaters on January 13, however, it was postponed due to the rise in the COVID-19 cases across the country. The Tamil action drama directed by H Vinoth is likely to get a new release date soon.

Some reports suggest that the film will hit the theaters on March 4. Manufacturers are hoping that governments will lift all coronavirus-induced restrictions by March.

The rise in the number of new Covid-19 cases and restrictions imposed by the state governments forced the makers to postpone the big budget film. Several state governments stopped operating theaters and many allowed them to run with only 50 per cent occupancy. Now the situation is improving and the makers expect theaters to run with full occupancy by March.

Earlier, the makers had refused to release Valimai online even though they were offered Rs 300 crore from the OTT platform. The makers are not in a mood to release the film on the OTT platform.

The makers of the film are expected to formally announce the new release date by next week.

The film is directed by Boney Kapoor. Actor Ajith will be seen in the role of a cop who turns into a criminal. The film features Huma Qureshi as the female lead and actor Kartikeya Gummakonda as the antagonist. Actors Raj Ayyappa, Yogi Babu, Gurbani, Pugaz and Achyut will be seen in pivotal roles.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music of the film. The makers have already released the trailer of the film which shows that it will be packed with action sequences. Valimai’s run time will be 2 hours 58 minutes and it has been cleared by the censor board with a U/A certificate.
