Ajay Mishra holds ‘official meetings’ at MHA as demands for his sacked Rocks Parl, UP Assembly – Henry’s Club

Demands to sack Union minister Ajay Kumar Mishra shook both the Uttar Pradesh Assembly and Parliament on Thursday as the opposition intensified its attack on the BJP government over the minister’s son’s involvement in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said in Lok Sabha that “the minister who killed farmers should resign and he should be punished”. “We should be allowed to speak about the murder in Lakhimpur Kheri, where ministers were involved and which has been described as a conspiracy,” he said.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) had earlier submitted before a court that the killing of four farmers and a journalist in Lakhimpur Kheri, in which Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra is among the 13 accused, was a “pre-planned conspiracy”. The case sought to replace lesser charges with serious charges.

The court allowed the SIT to add the charge of attempt to murder in the FIR against the minister’s son Ashish Mishra and 12 others registered in the case, replacing it with lesser charges.

Meanwhile, amid the ruckus in the Parliamentary and Assembly sessions, Ajay Mishra is holding official meetings related to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). A day earlier when he inquired about the October 3 violence, he attacked a journalist and called media thieves, alleging that his son was also involved.

A video clip purportedly shows the minister getting angry when a reporter of a television news channel asked about these developments.

Don’t ask questions like a fool. Have you lost your temper (‘mind is bad’)? He is heard saying in Hindi. what do you want to know? You have accused the innocent. not ashamed? He is also heard calling the media a thief or a thief and angrily asking a journalist to switch off his mobile phone. The clip shows him moving aggressively towards a reporter.
