According to reports, Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and R Madhavan are gearing up to begin shooting for ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ in Punjab this September.

Actors Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh are set to reunite for the much-awaited sequel to ‘De De Pyaar De’, titled ‘De De Pyaar De 2’. While Tabu won’t be returning for this installment, fans can expect Devgn and Singh to reprise their popular roles from the first film. The upcoming shooting schedule will take place in Punjab.

“The first shoot schedule of the film was in Mumbai, but then Ajay had to leave for Son Of Sardar 2 shoot in the UK,” a source revealed to Hindustan Times. “Tabu will not be a part of the sequel. R Madhavan, Rakul and Ajay will shoot in Punjab for some time and come back to Bombay for the next schedule again in October.”

The Punjab schedule is set to begin in mid-September and is expected to last 15-20 days. The production team aims to wrap filming by the end of the year to allow the movie to enter post-production and hit screens by May next year, “They want to wrap up the film’s shoot by the end of the year so that the film can enter the post-production stage and release by May next year,” the source explained.

In the sequel, R Madhavan will take on the role of Rakul Preet Singh’s father, with a humorous rapport developing between his character and Ajay Devgn’s character, Ashish. The Punjab scenes will focus on traditional, homely settings, avoiding any romantic elements. Most of the shoot will take place in a bungalow and around farms, as the production team is working at full speed to capture the beauty of rural life.

The source revealed, “Nothing romantic is going to be shot in the state. The shoot will mostly be done inside a bungalow and khet, hence the prep is going on at full speed. The aim is to capture the family scenes of the house and around the beauty of the farms.”

Unlike the first film, which was directed by Akiv Ali, this sequel will be helmed by Anshul Sharma. “Anshul wants to keep the vibe of Rakul and Ajay’s characters alive. There will be a surprise package in the cast for the audience in the film (indicating a cameo), which can’t be revealed yet,” the source added. Additionally, fans can expect a surprise cameo, though details are being kept under wraps for now, promising an exciting new element in the cast.
