New Delhi: And the wait is finally over! Ajay Devgan and Tabu starrer ‘Drishyam 2’ has got a release date.
On Tuesday, Ajay took to Instagram and shared that the sequel to the hit thriller will hit the theaters on November 18, 2022.
“Attention! #Drishyam2 is releasing in theaters on 18th November 2022,” he posted.
As soon as the makers revealed the release date, netizens expressed their excitement about the film.
A social media user commented, “Yessss, I love #Drishyam… can’t wait for #Drishyam2.”
Another wrote, “Omg..can’t wait for drishyam2..like this…best movie.”
An Instagram user commented, “The way you acted in Drishyam was unbelievable. Was waiting for this.”
Tabu also shared the update on her Instagram handle.
Helmed by Abhishek Pathak, the film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor and Ishita Dutta. The team will wrap up the shooting of the film in Hyderabad today.
For those unaware, Ajay Devgn’s character of Vijay in the 2015 hit film ‘Drishyam’ made everyone believe that his family had gone on a vacation, which in turn was a perfect plan to save his family from a murder sentence. Ajay is all set to reprise one of his most interesting characters on screen and will replace Vijay in the sequel. The story unfolds a journey that leaves the audience wondering what could be his way this time.
Tabu will reprise her role as Inspector General of Police Meera Deshmukh.
The Hindi version, titled by Ajay, was a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film of the same name, starring Mohanlal in the lead role. It was directed by National Award winning director Nishikant Kamat, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 50.
