Greater Noida: Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Civil Aviation General (Retd) VK Singh has announced that the Noida International Airport will be connected to NH 91 (GT Road) in Khurja. In a meeting with YEDA officials, NOIDA International Airport Limited (nial) CEO Arun Veer Singh, Nodal Officer Shailendra Bhatia and Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd (YIAPL) CEO Christoph Selman, Singh directed them to prepare the connectivity plan. It aims to provide maximum connectivity to Jewar with neighboring areas.

“NHAI will prepare the feasibility report. The connectivity of NH-91 will be facilitated with the development of this road,” said Arun Veer Singh, CEO, YEIDA.
While NH-91 passes through Khurja, it is expected that this route from Khurja to Jewar will be repaired so as to reach NH-91. The officials will also consider the possibilities of new road construction.
While the existing road requires RepairsOnce ready, it can reduce the via MG Road from the current 1 hour 22 minutes to 40 minutes. In addition, as the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will cross Palwal, it will increase connectivity from the Greenfield Corridor to Palwal and Khurja to Jewar.
In another event on Thursday, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari announced that a greenfield corridor will be built by spending Rs 2,100 crore to connect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with the airport at Jewar. For this, the land acquisition work has been completed and the Detailed Project Report (DPR) is in the final stage.
According to Gadkari, about 15 projects worth Rs 53,000 crore have been approved for the construction of roads and bridges in Delhi NCR. While 14 projects are underway, Rs 2,100 crore of the total cost will be spent on the development of a greenfield corridor connecting the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with the Jewar airport. He said that work on this project will start this year. A YEIDA official said, “With the completion of this project, pollution in Delhi NCR is expected to reduce as well as reduce the traffic jams.”
Apart from this, the work of connecting DND with Delhi-Mumbai Expressway via Faridabad and Ballabhgarh will be completed by 2023.
