The air quality in Amritsar has reached alarming levels even before Diwali. The city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) has been rising steadily since October 26. The administration has already given strict instructions regarding firecrackers. At the same time, the Green Tribunal has also issued strict orders for some cities of the country. The AQI crossed 300 on Saturday-Sunday night.

You cannot strangle other human beings and animals for your own happiness. Amritsar’s AQI had reached 500 on the night of Diwali last year. This year it has already crossed the 300 mark four days before Diwali. If the situation remains the same, then the Supreme Court or the National Green Tribunal can also issue strict orders for Amritsar. Significantly, in order to save the heritage like Taj Mahal in Agra, the Green Tribunal has issued orders to stop fireworks. If the AQI of Agra goes above 300, then no one will be able to burst crackers there. Similarly, if the AQI is less than 200, then they will be able to celebrate only Green Diwali for two hours. At the same time, the AQI of Amritsar has crossed 300 at present.

In 48 hours, 276 cases of stubble burning have come to the fore.

In 1 month 10 days, 804 places of stubble burning have been identified on the complaint of satellite and teams working in local areas. The checking teams reached 660 places within 48 hours, out of which the incident of stubble burning was found correct in 276 areas. On the other hand, visiting the team in 144 places is pending on the information of stubble burning.

AQI reached 328 at 3 pm

Amritsar’s AQI has been increasing continuously since October 26. Talking about Saturday-Sunday at 3 pm, the AQI of the city was recorded as 328. which was well above the danger mark. On the other hand, the same AQI 301 has been recorded at 7 am.
