Air India incurred a loss of around Rs 70,820 crore as on March 31, 2020: Government – Times of India

New Delhi: Air India Since its merger with Indian Airlines in 2007, it is incurring huge losses and as of March 31, 2020, it has suffered a loss of around Rs 70,820 crore, Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh said on Wednesday.
Financial bids for Air India are likely to be received from eligible interested bidders by September 15 this year.
The Center had invited Expression of Interest (EoI) for Air India on January 27, 2020. The last date for submission of EOIs – after several extensions due to the COVID-19 pandemic – was December 14, 2020.
“Air India is incurring huge losses since the merger and has incurred a loss of about Rs 70,820 crore as on March 31, 2020,” Singh said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha.
