New Delhi: All professionally run airlines and hospitality companies consider “businessly important persons/individuals” (CIPs) – those who receive business – as true VIPs. Air IndiaThe airline’s new and original owners, the Tata Group, have also included the airline in the league. The Maharaja has set up an “Executive Helpdesk” to assist its “most valued customers on priority”. A note by AI Director (Commercial) Meenakshi Mallick said the helpdesk will cater to a select list of “leading government stakeholders, senior executives from India Inc” and influencers.
Meanwhile, AI has revised its re-issuance/date change, cancellation and no-show charges for domestic flights with effect from Saturday (January 29). The change fee in economy now ranges between Rs 2,000-3,000 or the basic fare (whichever is lower), depending on the fare class and time before the flight is sought. The no-show economy fee is now non-refundable in cases of non-refundable tickets ranging from Rs.3,000 or the basic fare (whichever is lower). And the refund charge for Economy Fair ranges from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000.
“As we become a part of the Tata Group, we have taken several initiatives to enhance our brand and business. One such initiative is to ensure a seamless experience to the customers… This helpdesk is (created)… to provide them with a world class experience and inspire them to be our brand ambassadors,” said Meenakshi, AI Director (Commercial) A note from Mallick says. Sources say the aim is to ensure customer satisfaction for every passenger.
A GM level officer has been made the head of this unit to handle all high level grievances and resolve them within stipulated time. “We will track areas of improvement in the departments regarding customer satisfaction,” says Mallick. Mallick has been asked to continue on the AI board form time along with other directors and has been made director of the AI Express board with Vinod, AI director (finance). Hejmadi.
