Ahmedabad: Shikha Rathod became the first woman loco pilot of the Railway Division to run Mail/Express – Rail Hunt

Ahmedabad. Shikha Rathod, a female assistant loco pilot in Ahmedabad division has become the first loco pilot to run mail/express train after goods train. Many women loco pilots are already working independently in many divisions and other zones of Western Railway. Women assistant loco pilots are also working in Ahmedabad division since 2012, but this is the first time that a woman assistant loco pilot has run a mail/express train.

Vatva Goods Loco Loco Incharge Syed Mohammad Aslam, Chief Loco Inspector Harish L., CLS RC Prajapati, Crew Controller Kaushik Patel and JC Bank Director Sanjay Suryabali and other loco and traffic staff honored him and bid farewell to Vatva Goods Lobby.

On this occasion, colleagues wished the bright future of Mrs. Shikha Rathod. While going on duty in Mail/Express train for the first time, Loco Foremen Sanjay Kashyap, CLI Harish L., CLI Alkesh Kaushik, CLI Ramavatar Gupta, CLI Ketan Mehra, CTCC Paras Dave, Booking Clerk Prakash Patel and Praful Parmar and JC in Passenger Lobby Ahmedabad. Bank Director Sanjay Suryabali etc. conveyed best wishes to Mrs. Shikha and Loco Pilot Pradeep.

Sanjay Suryabali, Joint Minister, Western Railway Employees Union, issued a statement and said that Mrs. Shikha took train number 06614 on 09 October and 06613 Coimbatore – Rajkot – Coimbatore Express on 10 October with a safe and careful work to reach Ahmedabad – Rajkot – Ahmedabad. Smt. Shikha has created history by doing mail/express train work in Ahmedabad division as the first woman assistant loco pilot.
