AHMEDABAD: Fewer covid cases trigger the rakhi game. Ahmedabad News – Times of India

AHMEDABAD: This was one of the first major public festivals for the Amdavadis after the reduction in Covid cases, and they made the most of it on Sundays. While many families held their first get-togethers, many decided to move to public places from the Sabarmati Riverfront to the Kankaria Lakefront. The eateries were at the peak and some opted to move out of town.
In many places, however, masking and social distancing norms went for a toss, with public health experts warning citizens that the pandemic is not over, it is just over.
In the Jagannathji temple, rakhis were tied to the deities by Mahant Dilipdasji. Many women from the Muslim community tied rakhis to the Mahant as a symbol of communal harmony. Special pujas were organized in many temples. At the Kala Ramji Temple near Calico Dome in the Walled City, about 100 brahmins Changed the Janeu (sacred thread) as per the ancient customs. However, many communities did not organize their annual meet in view of the pandemic situation.
In Gandhinagar, women tied rakhi to CM Vijay Rupani. A team of Abhayam 181 helpline led by coordinator Falguni Patel also tied rakhi to the Chief Minister, praying for the progress of the state and end of the pandemic.
