Another milestone for R Madhavan! The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Monday organized a special screening of the actor’s much-loved project Rocketry: The Nambi Effect at Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi. The screening was attended by former CBI Director DR Karthikeyan, former CBI IG PM Nair, senior government officials, film industry stakeholders and Team Rocketry.
The film’s screenplay, editing, acting and most importantly, the inspiring story of Nambi Narayanan’s life was appreciated by the guests.
Speaking at the special screening, Madhavan said that the film is a celebration of India’s technological prowess in space and IT sectors. “The film is a tribute to Guru Sri Nambi Narayanan, whose growth engine never failed. It also conveyed India’s soft power skill set to the world with respect to human resource expertise and scientific excellence,” he said.
I&B Secretary, Apoorva Chandra said that the film is not only entertaining but also touches the heart of the audience. “The film pays tribute to thousands of scientists, including Nambi Narayanan, who have dedicated their entire lives to the achievements of India’s space programme,” Chandra said.
Former IG CBI PM Nair also appreciated the film and said that it is entertaining, captivating and meaningful. “It is a perfect combination of science, technology and spirit. The film will be welcomed not only in India, but across the world,” he remarked.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is an Indian biographical drama based on the life of scientist Nambi Narayanan. Nambi was a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), who was accused of espionage in 1994.
Interestingly, this film is Madhavan’s directorial debut. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect also premiered at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, where it received a standing ovation. The film is scheduled to release on worldwide silver screens on July 01 this year.
