The Bajrang Sena (BS) leader is close to former minister Deepak Joshi, who quit the BJP to join the Congress.

Hindutva outfit Bajrang Sena on Tuesday alleged that the BJP came to power in the state by betraying the people’s mandate and lost its way, alleging a merger with the Congress in Madhya Pradesh ahead of the assembly elections.

The Bajrang Sena (BS) leader is close to former minister Deepak Joshi, who quit the BJP to join the Congress.

The merger took place in the presence of MP Congress President Kamal Nath. The merger was announced by BS National President Rajneesh Pateria and Coordinator Raghunandan Sharma. Joshi were also present on the occasion.

BS members presented mace and memento to Nath and raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram.

Welcoming the development, Nath alleged that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is making hollow announcements as elections are nearing.

Nath claimed, “Chouhan has so far made more than 20,000 announcements which are never implemented. As assembly elections are nearing, Chouhan is now missing women, youth and employees. Haven’t done anything for them in the last 18 years while I was in.” ,

He said the people have decided this time to end the rule of the BJP, which “came to power through horse trading”, apparently referring to the toppling of the Nath-led government in March 2020.

Patria said workers joining the Congress in large numbers would ensure the defeat of the BJP, which “came to power by betraying the people’s mandate”.

Bajrang Sena was established in 2013 in Chhatarpur. It used to agitate on religious and social issues.

In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won 114 of the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh. BJP was at number two by winning 109 seats. Congress formed a coalition government with the support of independent BSP and SP.
