Ahead of PM’s Muchintal visit, Telangana CM says ‘Statue of equality of Ramanujan to spread peace across the world’

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, also known as KCR, on Thursday expressed hope that Ramanujam’s Samatha idol at Muchintal Ashram of Chinna Jeeyar Swamy will soon become a major tourist destination in the state. Saint and revolutionary Ramanuja preached equality, respect and peace to all about 1,000 years ago, he said after visiting the ashram and said that Jeera Swami has disciples in India and around the world.

KCR’s visit gains prominence in Ramanuja’s millennium festivities as the statue of Samtha Murthy will be dedicated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 5. KCR directed Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to make complete and detailed arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit to Hyderabad and his visit. Visit to Ashram and ICRISAT.

He said that Ramanuja preached equality, respect and peace among all and the ashram would continue to follow the tradition. Muchintal Ashram will soon become a great tourist destination to spread respect and peace in Telangana and continue Ramanuja’s preaching.
