The decision was taken at the marathon meeting of Himachal Pradesh BJP’s core committee at Una on Friday night. A party spokesperson said on Saturday that the meeting was chaired by state BJP chief Suresh Kashyap.
With an eye on the 2024 general elections, the Himachal Pradesh BJP will take steps to strengthen its position in “weak booths” in four Lok Sabha constituencies in the state and apprise voters of the development work done by the party-led government at the Centre. Will get it done
The decision was taken at the marathon meeting of Himachal Pradesh BJP’s core committee at Una on Friday night. A party spokesperson said on Saturday that the meeting was chaired by state BJP chief Suresh Kashyap.
BJP National Vice President Saudan Singh and other top leaders also attended the meeting.
The spokesman said that during the meeting it was decided that weak booths would be identified in all the four Lok Sabha seats of Himachal Pradesh and the sitting MPs would remain in these booths.
In addition, the BJP will reach out to the common people in these areas and inform them about the development initiatives and public welfare works undertaken by the party’s government at the Center and in the state during the last five years.
According to party spokesperson, Rajya Sabha MP Indu Goswami will camp in Mandi constituency, the only Lok Sabha seat held by the Congress, and work on strengthening the organisation.
The strategy to encircle the Congress government was also discussed in the meeting which lasted for about four hours. The reasons for the BJP’s defeat in the assembly elections held in November were also reviewed.
BJP is a disciplined political party and will not tolerate indiscipline. State unit chief Kashyap said strict action was being taken against those who worked against the party in the assembly polls.
