Agnipath protest: The Delhi-Gurugram Expressway on Monday witnessed heavy traffic jams following the Congress’ protest against the Bharat Bandh call against the Agneepath scheme and the grilling of Rahul Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). A similar view was also seen on the Delhi-Noida, Delhi-Faridabad border.

According to news agency ANI, a huge pile was seen on the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway near Sarhaul. Delhi Police officials have put up barricades to check vehicles entering the national capital.

Heavy traffic movement was reported on Noida-Delhi link road at Chilla border due to security check by UP Police in view of Bharat Bandh against Agneepath scheme.

Noida ADCP Ranvijay Singh said, “We are ensuring that no protesters can pass through here, we are coordinating with Delhi Police.”

Traffic police blocked several roads in parts of Delhi ahead of Congress protests over the new military recruitment scheme and the BJP government targeting Rahul Gandhi. Rahul is being questioned by the ED in the National Herald money laundering case and will appear before the agency for the fourth time on Monday.

Heavy traffic jam was witnessed in Delhi-Noida-Delhi Flyway, Meerut Expressway, Anand Vihar, Sarai Kale Khan, Pragati Maidan and other parts of Delhi.

Delhi Traffic Police said that their teams have been deployed at various places to ensure smooth flow of traffic. In a series of tweets, the traffic police informed commuters about the road closure.

Due to special traffic arrangements, the inflow of buses beyond Gol Dak Khana Junction, Patel Chowk, Windsor Place, Teen Murti Chowk and Prithviraj Road in New Delhi will be restricted. Traffic police suggested commuters to avoid Gol Methi Junction, Tughlaq Road Junction, Claridges Junction, Q-Point Junction, Sunhari Masjid Junction, Maulana Azad Road Junction and Man Singh Road Junction.
