Mumbai: The title of Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Prithviraj’ has been changed and the film is now titled ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, according to a letter released by Yash Raj Films.
The letter has been sent to Shri Rajput Karni Sena. The move comes after a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed by Shri Rajput Karni Sena through Advocate Raghavendra Mehrotra.
The letter read: “We, Yash Raj Films Pvt Ltd, have been one of the leading production houses and distribution companies since our inception in the 1970s and are growing into one of the largest film studios in India. We have produced some of the most iconic films in the history of Indian cinema, and the movies and entertainment industry have had over 50 years of goodwill.”
The letter further read: “We sincerely appreciate your effort to alert us of your complaint with respect to the current title of the film, and assure you that we have not addressed the feelings of any person(s)”. It is not intended nor intended to hurt. ) or disrespect the late king and warrior, Prithviraj Chauhan.

“As per the many rounds of discussions between us, and to resolve the grievance raised peacefully and amicably, we will change the title of the film to ‘Samrat Prithviraj’.
“We greatly appreciate the mutual agreement we have reached that you have no further objections with respect to our film and all other points raised earlier by you are no longer a matter of dispute between us. We are the Shri Rajput Karni Sena and for this Thanks to the members for understanding our good intentions regarding the portrayal of the great warrior in the film.”
